We announced today that Bill Ready has joined Braintree as CEO and I've moved to Chairman. I've acted as CEO since founding the company four years ago.
When starting Braintree, I determined that I wanted us to build an exceptional company. I wanted employees to say that Braintree was the very best place they'd ever worked. I wanted our customers to be so excited about what we did and how we did it that they just couldn't resist telling others. I wanted us to forge our own path, to hack what we touch and be thoughtful in everything we do.
In working towards this goal, my most important responsibilities have been setting the right vision, curating the path, and finding the right people.
I've been searching for the right person to help me grow Braintree for over a year now and I found that right fit in Bill. He's an experienced payments CEO and he believes in and cares about the things we do. I feel very fortunate that he decided to come on board with us. We will continue to build upon the Braintree that our employees and customers have come to love.
I'll continue to be very active as Chairman and work on long term vision and strategic opportunities. I'm excited to be working with Bill as we strive to continually build an exceptional company.
